Three months old!

November 25, 2007

Jonah is officially three months old. People always say that it flies by…seems they were telling the truth. Each day I get excited about the new things that he’s doing. But, in a small way, I also mourn the things he won’t ever do again.  I even felt a little sad packing away his newborn clothes.I suppose I should be happy that it makes me a little sad.  Because, even though there have been tough moments, I’m so thoroughly enjoying this experience — enjoying him — that I don’t want any aspect of it to be over.

One big happy family

We used to just have one baby in our house. And as anyone who knows us will tell you, Daisy Mae was definitely coddled.

But that was all pre-Jonah. Now Daisy gets her attention when we can spare it. Her daily walks have turned into a weekly occasion and she doesn’t even get to chase her ball much. At first, though she showed no aggression, you could tell she was perturbed by the baby’s presence. Every time we’d try to set him near her, she’d bolt. She didn’t even like to be in bed with all of us. But as the weeks have gone by she has become more and more accustomed to him.

Now, she’s even a little protective.

A little early for politics??

November 15, 2007

I caught Matt reading Jonah an article about Hillary Clinton and her campaign. We both speculate that, as a teenager, Jonah will rebel by voting Republican.

Mike visited!

And even though there were two professional photographers in the room, we couldn’t seem to get a photo that wasn’t blurry.
