Fun with worms!

March 31, 2009

Jonah and I had great fun yesterday hunting for bugs. And when we found this worm, he became our pet for the afternoon. We held him, let him play on the rocks, took him for a walk (Jonah’s idea) and even let him ride on Jonah’s car. I’m certain the little thing was traumatized, but I think the worm made it out of the whole ordeal alive and well. I just had to keep getting it wet so he wouldn’t dry out too much.

When Matt arrived home, we took pictures…so Jonah could remember his worm.

Matt — Dada

March 26, 2009

Just a quick little note about something I found funny….

This morning, Jonah referred to his father as Matt. I couldn’t stop laughing…but I think it bothered Matt a little bit. He’s way too young to be using his Dad’s first name! 🙂

Matt started saying, “What happened to Dada?” And Jonah got this devilish look on his face and started insisting, “Matt! Matt!” They went back and forth like this for awhile until J finally said “Matt-Dada!” So funny!

Gotta brag just a bit.

I’m so proud of Jonah today that I’ve just got to brag a little bit.

He knows all of his shapes — I’m talking square, circle, triangle, rectangle, hexagon, rhombus, pentagon — and can state them (or at least some approximation of the word) verbally.

He knows all of his colors and about half of the letters of the alphabet and can identify them verbally! He can also count to three with some prompting!

It’s amazing how quickly he’s soaking up knowledge these days. I’m such a proud mama.

Now if I could just get him to stop saying, “No!” all the time…. 🙂

Grandma Frye just sent us a few photos that she took from a recent weekend visit. These are Jonah in his “costumes.” We cut arm and head holes in a paper bag and decorated the fronts. He loves to try them on in front of the mirror.

It’s been forever since I’ve posted photos — mostly because we can’t find our small digital camera. Still looking….

Anyway, here are a few photos from Jonah’s weekend romp in the snow. He’s getting SO big!
