She did it.

Em requested that it go in the permanent record that she buckled herself in. All by herself.

Today I cuddled with Lou and read her two books in bed.

Today J and Em put their blankets on the floor to create boats and then leapt, naked, from boat to boat trying to avoid the “water.”

Today, J and Em made posters to decorate their homeschool room. And they played hide and seek with their teacher, Amy.

Today, I walked with Lou for a hour and stopped every time she wanted to examine a leaf or listen to the squirrels chatter.

Today, I cuddled my three year old baby for just a few moments before she ran off to play again. This little check in of physical touch that she still needs despite her “big girl” status.

Today, we worked to the sound of children’s laughter in the backyard.

Today is a very good day.

Want to remember, when she’s all grown up, how Lou – at just 15 months – would wait for pauses in conversation and then add things like, “oh my,” and “oh wow,” and nod emphatically at all the appropriate moments.
